Just some guy You been bringing up apologetics that were lies and I dismantled them. Why are you defending slavery? Show me Biblical from the KJV and historical proof that ancient Israelites suffered the exact same way as the African or Barbary slave trade. You said that Biblical slavery was different than American slavery. In the first one, there is a general prohibition against slavery of anyone and in the second, a specific order against slavery of Israelites.
Voluntary labor is completely different from your critera of slavery. Voluntary labor arises when a person becomes so poor that they cannot make a living, cannot provide for themselves, and sell themselves into a relationship with a person who has money and can provide for the poor person.

The preferred mode would be: Okay, men will be the spiritual leaders. Over those same decades, the denomination — led by Patterson and Pressler — doubled down on a theology of gender that emphasizes male leadership.

All of this aside, Miley still sees herself as a good Christian girl, even being baptized into a new Baptist church as recently as Let me make it clear, though—I am a Christian. Come and lay your hands on her so that she can get well and live. Why do you think many of us only turn to God when we are desperate, after we have exhausted every human possibility for relief? During times of suffering, why should we include Jesus, first and foremost, as a source for help and healing? Who was Jairus and what do we know about him? What did Jairus do when he saw Jesus? Why do you think Jairus reacted in such a manner when he saw Jesus?

Before I get started I must premise this section by telling you that this is one of the most dangerous and destructive false teaching of the Independent Fundamental Baptist Denomination. Teaching tithing is absolutely unbiblical and nothing more than mind control manipulation. There has been a lot of good information on the truth about tithing made available online and I will provide some links at the bottom of this page to web sites that I have read and agree with.
The purpose of this page is not to go into a lot of detail about tithing. I would simply like to point out the false teachings of the Independent Fundamental Baptist Denomination in this area and touch on some of the important points about tithing that show why it is wrong. When I recently asked an Independent Fundamental Baptist Denomination minister about tithing this was his reply was: However, God has categorically promised to bless those who will so honor Him.
The Independent Fundamental Baptist Denomination teaches that there is a difference between the two. They teach that if you wish to give over and above the tithe you can do so by giving more to the local church or to another ministry. They teach that if you tithe God will protect your property and your finances through Divine Intervention and not allow bad things to happen that take up your resources such as cars breaking down and leaky roofs. It may have been by high winds, hail, or a combination of them.
God had gotten His tithe.
Of course, tension can be healthy. It serves to clarify beliefs. But tension also has a down side.
Separate Baptist, Primitive Baptist, American Baptist and Southern Baptist are just a few of today’s plus Baptist denominations. Each of the three major Baptist groups claims a different line of descent.

Be the first to know. Sign up for our Breaking News alert Women and girls have been discriminated against for too long in a twisted interpretation of the word of God. My faith is a source of strength and comfort to me, as religious beliefs are to hundreds of millions of people around the world. So my decision to sever my ties with the Southern Baptist Convention, after six decades, was painful and difficult.
It was, however, an unavoidable decision when the convention’s leaders, quoting a few carefully selected Bible verses and claiming that Eve was created second to Adam and was responsible for original sin, ordained that women must be “subservient” to their husbands and prohibited from serving as deacons, pastors or chaplains in the military service.
This view that women are somehow inferior to men is not restricted to one religion or belief. Women are prevented from playing a full and equal role in many faiths. Nor, tragically, does its influence stop at the walls of the church, mosque, synagogue or temple. This discrimination, unjustifiably attributed to a Higher Authority, has provided a reason or excuse for the deprivation of women’s equal rights across the world for centuries.
At its most repugnant, the belief that women must be subjugated to the wishes of men excuses slavery, violence, forced prostitution, genital mutilation and national laws that omit rape as a crime. But it also costs many millions of girls and women control over their own bodies and lives, and continues to deny them fair access to education, health, employment and influence within their own communities.
